Feeling a Part of PVMC
About two years ago, Laura joined her sister and her great niece for church at PVMC. She liked listening to Pastor Tim and loved the way he applied scripture to today’s life which is something she had never heard in her Catholic church. She loved singing and was not used to that! As a child in Catholic school, they sang in Latin. Psalm 96:2, “Sing to the Lord, praise his name…”
Her sister invited her to go to a small group. This was another new thing because she had been too busy doing life. Despite thinking she may say the wrong thing, she felt comfortable and safe. She was quiet at first, but quickly learned that she didn’t have to know a lot about the Bible. She loved how honest the ladies were and even though they may be going through a hard time they still seemed happy. This year when Laura came back to spend winter in Wilmington, she joined us for Bible study. She loved learning that even if she is down she should praise Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will…” She now knows even though she didn’t feel God’s presence for years, He was there! Matthew 28:20, “I will be with you always…”
Laura began to feel a part of PVMC when she saw friends, from small group, on Sundays. After seeing others joining, she decided to join. Now she is inviting her son to come to church and buying her granddaughter books about Jesus. Mark 16:15, “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” She will be going back home soon but she will be worshiping with us online. Welcome to the family, Laura! Hurry back!
