Fast & Furious
When I would go to Mom and Dad’s they would be so excited to see me. When I would surprise my granny, she would always say, “I was just ‘specting you!” They were always excited that I had come home! This is God’s House and He is standing at the door waiting for His children to come home. Pastor Tim said, “He wants us to come home in whatever way that is meant for you.”
Pastor Tim has challenged us to seek God this season. Romans 12: 1, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” We can seek God by fasting and praying. We are to be disciplined by reading God’s Word. The One Year Bible is being offered again and some of us are trying, again. The third way to seek God is being in worship which comes easy for me. I cannot imagine not having worship time and fellowship once a week!
Mike and I fasted and it was not easy. We gave up a couple of things including sweets. At first I thought I may get mad when I want something and can’t have it. God does not want us to be furious, He wants us to seek Him. The best part was how quickly I learned, when I had a craving, it was time to pray…to seek Him. I saw how our minds would be transformed when I sought God. In true transformation we find grace, mercy and love. This was a wonderful experience and I will fast again.
