That Is Enough
She was to go to Surge with PVUMC youth but her friend was in the ICU. Crystal felt restless and knew she needed to see if her friend knew Jesus but because she felt inadequate, she asked her mom. Her friend said she believed and said for Crystal to go on the trip.
Friday night, at Surge, Pastor Andy Lambert said “all you need to do is believe.” That is enough. It hit her like a ton of bricks that it was really enough. Saturday she attended Carolyn Moore’s Holy Spirit workshop where she listened, prayed and asked God to speak to her and to show her His Spirit. John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
Sunday morning she got a text that her friend was not doing well. Her friend asked her what the Holy Spirit was telling her to do. She felt a nudge to go to the hospital and this time her spirit was calm. Crystal held her dying friend's hand and talked to her about Jesus. Crystal didn’t feel inadequate, she felt God. When asked if she wanted a pastor, her friend did not know if she did.
Monday Pastor Chris asked her if she wanted a pastor to pray with her friend. She almost ignored the Holy Spirit but said yes and Pastor Barry visited. That afternoon her friend, in pain, said, “I want to go to Heaven where there is no pain!” They made her comfortable but in an hour Crystal was called back due to a status change. While driving there, the sky was blue with a rainbow! When she walked in, Crowder’s “In The House” was playing. (It played during every pivotal moment of her father in law’s death and brought her comfort.) She knew God was with them and where her friend was going so she held her friend's hand, told her she loved her and to run to Jesus. She passed and In front of her friend's husband, Crystal praised God, singing with hands raised. The Holy Spirit was giving her love, comfort and a boldness to witness to her friend’s husband through her praise.
While Crystal went on the trip to love on the kids, God loved on her! She passed that love on to her friend and her friend’s husband. Our ripple effects can turn into waves, for generations!
