I Have A Notion He Caused A Commotion

I heard the 70’s song, “Nice To Be With You”  by Gallery, and love the words: “I got a notion He's causin' commotion in my soul!".  Oh, it's so nice to be with you…you and me have got somethin' that's real.  I know it's gonna last a lifetime."  I thought of our time with Pastor Andy Lambert and our “revival” as many people called it.  "I got a notion He's causin' commotion in my soul" makes me think of the Holy Spirit.  And I am going to have Him for a lifetime! While singing these words, I thought about how the Holy Spirit causes commotion in my soul!   When “you've got a notion He's causin' commotion,” you know you have been worshiping!  Who knew it could be a praise song?!

One of the weeks that Pastor Andy was with us, I went to church with a heavy-burdened heart but came home feeling it was well with my soul.  My circumstances had not changed but my focus had.  I was reminded Who and Whose I am!  Psalm 16: 7, "I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night." I pray you have the notion He is causing commotion in your soul!

Pastor Andy brought God’s Word so God could reveal Himself to us.  Psalm 45: 1, “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.”  Our worship is what is going on in our heart, not about getting our needs met.  Being in a worshipful atmosphere flows over into our daily lives.

Many of us worship our work, our play, sports, shopping, etc.  Jesus is worthy of Worship!  Worship is simply preparing ourselves to come face-to-face and heart-to-heart with Jesus.

Hebrews 4: 16, "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." I want you to have a notion (a knowing) that He is causing commotion in your soul!
