Share What God Has Done

As I have read, “That’s Good News” by Shane Bishop, I have thought a lot about evangelism. Evangelism is one of my spiritual gifts so it comes natural for me but it hasn’t always. In retrospect, I realize that evangelism was a big complicated word for something so easy. Evangelism is defined as “the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness.” I say it is you sharing where you have seen God in your life.

Jesus, often, taught through parables, simple stories. I love learning this way because it can be easier to understand. Stories can be powerful, life-changing, and memorable.Jesus’ parables drew out lessons that as parents, grandparents, and mentors, we can share with others, young and old. We do this to help them put their trust in God. Psalm 78:7, “Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

All we have to do is tell how God has worked and is working in our own lives. As Christians, we are called to share the good news. Matthew 28: 19, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” This is a command, not a suggestion. We might not be able to answer all of someone’s questions, but we know what God has done in our life. And no one can deny what Christ has done in our life to help. When we are passionate about Christ, others will see something different about us and want to know about it. When we share it helps our love and faith grow in God.

Each of us has a story of God’s goodness, a testimony of how Jesus has transformed us. What has God done in your life?  Who can you share this good news with?
