appalachia service project

Through our Appalachia Service Project, PVMC youth and adult volunteers come together to serve families in Appalachia by helping make their homes warmer, safer, and drier. Each year, our team rolls up their sleeves to tackle hands-on projects that meet real needs and make a lasting difference in the lives of the families we serve.

But the impact goes beyond the work itself. As we repair homes, share meals, listen to stories, and build relationships, our volunteers experience the joy of serving others and seeing Christ at work in the lives of those around them. The trip is an opportunity for our youth to grow in faith, develop a heart for service, and discover that even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

Throughout the year, our annual Chicken Pickin’ fundraiser helps make this ministry possible, bringing our church family together to support our team and the families they will serve. Through service, generosity, and relationship, we strive to bring warmth, hope, and the love of Christ to Appalachia.

guyana missions

Through Guyana Missions, PVMC partners with churches and communities in South America through yearly mission trips focused on serving, sharing, and building relationships. Our teams have the opportunity to experience the people and culture of Guyana while sharing the love of Christ in tangible and meaningful ways.

Throughout the year, our church collects barrels filled with clothing, medicine, and other needed supplies. These donations are delivered during our mission trips to children’s homes, homeless shelters, group homes, and families in need, providing practical support and reminding people that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Our teams also serve alongside local churches, leading Vacation Bible School and spending time with children and residents in group homes. When needs arise, volunteers also take on labor projects, improving the conditions of homes, churches, and community spaces.

The Guyana mission is about more than a yearly trip, it is an ongoing partnership that connects PVMC with people and churches across the world. Through worship, teaching, service, generosity, and relationships, we seek to share the hope of Christ and make a lasting impact in the lives of the people we are privileged to serve.

disaster relief

PVMC’s Disaster Relief Ministry is a growing mission focused on bringing practical help and the love of Christ to communities impacted by natural disasters. We are building teams of volunteers who are ready to step in when disaster strikes, serving in localized areas where families and communities are facing the difficult work of recovery.

This year, our team traveled to Western North Carolina to serve in the aftermath of devastating hurricanes. Volunteers completed hands on labor projects, helping families and communities begin the process of rebuilding and restoring what was damaged.

As this ministry continues to grow, we hope to respond wherever there is a need, putting faith into action through hard work and compassion. Whether it’s clearing debris, repairing homes, or helping with other recovery projects, our goal is to be present with people in the aftermath of crisis and remind them that they are not alone.
