Thank You, PVUMC!
As I thought about wanting to thank everyone for all of their prayers over the past month, I kept thinking of “Sunday’s coming”. Pastor Tim shared with us, last Easter, that “today may be Friday but Sunday’s coming.” He was speaking of Good Friday which was a sad and dark day. But the reality is there was plenty of good on that sad Friday. While His crucifixion was not good, the results were good. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, He lives inside of us!
Like many of you, I have felt that our family has been having a tough season for the past two years. Ecclesiastes 3: 1,4: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:...a time to weep and a time to laugh.” At times, things have felt hard, sad, unfair and even dark. While I know we are going to have tough times, they are still tough! John 16: 33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Through all of this, I still had joy. Joy is the all-knowing that God is in control, no matter what happens. My faith grew knowing that I have a church family and friends that pray for my family and I! My faith grew seeing how God can use sinful me and the hard times I go through to bring honor to Him. My faith grew as I saw and continue to see the blessings along the way. My faith grows as I trust that seasons change. Psalm 30: 5, “weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
I know that it may be Friday, but Sunday’s coming! That Friday, God used something very, very sad for something very, very Good! Just like He still does. So, I thank Him for the hard times that make me, my husband and my girls grow! We are all doing well. We thank you, PVUMC family, for all of the many ways you have shown the love of Jesus to us. Love y’all!
