Speaking Jesus

Reverend Tim Blevins was one of our guest speakers for revival.  The Life Church band played with our bridge band and the music was amazing!  We sang some favorites and then I heard a new song, “I Speak Jesus” by Darlene Zschech and Here Be Lions.  “'Cause your name is power.  Your name is healing.  Your name is life.  Break every stronghold.  Shine through the shadows, Burn like a fire.  I just want to speak the name of Jesus Over fear and all anxiety.  To every soul held captive by depression, I speak Jesus….Jesus in the darkness over every enemy.  Jesus for my family.  I speak the holy name, Jesus.”  It took us to the Throne of God!  The gym was packed and people were worshiping abundantly!  It brings tears to my eyes as I write - it was that powerful!  I know God was smiling down on us!

How wonderful that two churches could rally together, stand together, pray together and worship together.  As he said, a divided nation needs a united church!  Amen!  Reverend Tim talked to us about being battle ready.  I think we can all agree there is a spiritual warfare going on so we must be prepared for resistance.

While Apostle Paul was in prison, being guarded by Romans soldiers, he wrote Ephesians 6: 10-12, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Don’t underestimate the power of the devil.  Scripture tells us he comes to kill, steal and destroy!  That means he wants to destroy marriages, put our kids in strongholds, wants us to feel condemned and depressed.  We are to resist him!  1 Peter 5: 8, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”  Stand firm in God’s Word.  1 Corinthians 15: 58, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

While this is to be taken seriously, we do not have to live in fear.  1 John 4: 4, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”  My brothers and sisters I heard were singing with confidence and assurance, praising their God and speaking Jesus!  Amen and amen!
