Divine Appointment
A couple of weeks ago I woke up to God telling me that I was to apologize to this woman, who I do not know, and ask her to forgive me. Over the last two years, I have run into this woman at the same location, random times. I have felt she did not like me and she had been rude on several occasions. My life would go on but I did wonder why she disliked me. This particular morning, God did not let up so I, feeling ridiculous, went to the location. Even though I felt the prompting, repeatedly, from the Holy Spirit, what were the odds of her being there? Proverbs 3: 5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” I had to trust that this would fulfill a purpose that God had. In less than five minutes I saw her. In a divine appointment, God’s timing is always perfect! I was reminded there is always a 100% chance of the other person showing up for a divine appointment!
I was like, “God, please don’t let anyone else be around.” Sure enough He opened things up for me. I felt so humiliated as I walked up to her. I told her God had told me to come this morning and apologize to her and ask her forgiveness. She was taken off guard! She only looked shocked for a moment and then laughed and said, “I have never seen you before.” Wow! It was her and I knew it so I apologized again and said I hoped she would forgive me. God, did she really just dis me like that? In my mind, I pictured everything ending well and this would be an awesome story but this is the end. For now, anyway. Who knows how God will use that in both of our lives?!
Two weeks later Pastor Tim’s sermon is on “divine appointments”! I do not know why God had me do this but I do know I was obedient. I believe the Holy Spirit made this "divine appointment", as Pastor Tim calls them. These are supernaturally made by God for you and someone else. These meetings, ordained by the Holy Spirit, can change our life! The Bible has lots of divine appointments. Two that come to mind are the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at the well. I am sure that changed her life! Acts 3: 6, "Then Peter said to the lame man, 'Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.'” He received a miracle healing.
Don't miss your appointment!!
