Jesus Revolution

I was blessed to be able to go with 98 other PVMC youth and adults to see the movie, “Jesus Revolution”. The movie takes place in the 1970s when a lot of “hippies” went to Southern California to find truth, something new and fresh. It tells the true story of a revival of Christianity leading up to what Time magazine called, “A Jesus Revolution” during a time of crisis and distrust. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history.”

February 5 PVMC had four nights of revival for adults and children and many lives were changed! Revival continues as we preach the Good News! On February 8, after a regularly scheduled chapel service a group of about 20 Asbury University students lingered and began to worship and pray for one another. Minutes turned into hours and days. Almost 1500 seats were occupied; walls and arches were crammed with people trying to join in. Crowds congregated in other towns, singing and praying and reading the Bible. February 13 another revival started at Cedarville University in Ohio. 1627 people attended the PVMC four night revival for adults and children. Hearts and generations are being changed.

So many people are hurting and many are looking for the right things in the wrong places. The movie reminded us not to be so arrogant to think God can’t work through our failures. Many people feel shame, feel trapped and some feel like an outcast. They need Jesus and we need to share the Good News! Revival is not over, it is time for us to take it to other places. Jesus ended His time with His disciples, telling them to go tell the world about Him. Mark 16: 15, “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” A revolution starts in our own heart. Let’s continue revival in our hearts, homes, PVMC and the world!
