Farewell Blog
Since I am resigning from my position at PVMC December 31, I want to share what working for you has meant to me over the last five years. I considered my “job” a ministry and there is much I will miss. God has blessed me with amazing friendships and a special group of sisters and brothers! The connection through my letter to those going through tough times, I will miss most. My uncle is in a memory care facility so when Covid shut things down I began writing words of encouragement and jokes. We all need to laugh! Proverbs 17: 22, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Four years later I pray over and send out almost 200 letters/emails a week to people I have come to love, many I have never met. This letter connected hearts to Christ and one another. For some, this is the only connection to PVMC or any church. Two retirement homes share the letter with residents. We’ve had visitors from this letter. Many forward to others. Two weeks ago Wanda shared that the day of her husband's passing, she read the letter to him, standing at the kitchen counter, both laughing at the jokes. “This was a very special moment and one of my last memories with him.” I thank God for bringing this ministry to mind and how He has used it!
While it is bittersweet writing my last letter and blog, my prayers will continue. What will I do? This happened quickly so I am not sure but I like the way my daughter put it. “Mom, don’t think about it as being unemployed, you are FUNemployed!” I will always have fun with this amazing life God has gifted me. I will continue writing my daily blogs at www.jilljarrellnewsome.com. God is growing my ministry, Hope in Him, doing conferences and retreats and I am excited to see where He leads. I will miss those of you I hear from regularly but you can reach me at jilljnewsome@gmail.com.
I am sending up extra prayers for you, today, thanking God for you and the blessing you are in my life! Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Blessings,
Jill
