Let The Light In

I was in a group that was discussing a recent sermon, by Pastor Chris, that we can change our play list by going to God's Word. We were reminded of Cody Carnes, "Let The Light In", that we sing at church."Let the light in, Open up the windows, let the light in... Fling wide you heavenly gates Let the King of glory in Let the King of glory in Come ride in on Your people's praise Let the King of glory in..."

When we are sad, mad, hopeless, hurting, burdened, weary, etc we can change our focus by letting the Light in! Psalm 119: 105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." God's Word changes our focus. Matthew 11: 28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." No matter what our circumstance is, we can go to God's Word where we can immediately get hope, assurance and clarity.

Light has many benefits. Sunlight enables us to see, helps us grow, calms our nerves, strengthens our immune system and eliminates darkness. God's Word, His Light, is essential for our spiritual health because we live in a dark world! God's Word has treasures of hope that will guide us, promises to encourage our hearts, godly instructions on how to live and a reminder of how loved we are. If you want to change your playlist, go to God's Word and let the Light in!
