Love For Missions
In June, Pine Valley Methodist Church – Leland held its 2nd annual Mission Celebration to introduce local missions to the church and community. It provided involvement in the church and an opportunity to share the Good News. Pastor Sheena was impressed how well the church worked together with everyone pitching in. They also learned they love to worship outside.
Keith shared that the prayer from the start of this event was “to be a liaison to connect the church with opportunities for mission and to be of service to the local area outreach efforts, so that we may truly be the hands and feet of Christ; fully living out the call to love God and our neighbors as ourselves. God smiled on us with an absolutely beautiful day and blessed us by doubling the number of attendees for a typical Sunday service. Together we learned about and engaged in personal conversation with the people who run the mission projects.”
This event was under a tent housing the band, members and guests. “God filled the space with his Presence, allowing attendees to experience a deep fellowship in participation with Christ.” Last year there were two ministries and this year there were ten with requests from three more! PVMC-L is growing! “Our congregation had an opportunity to volunteer, to make donations and to identify ways to get involved with these organizations. The missions had a chance to get to know one another and look for synergies to aid them in supporting one another.” Brunswick Family Assistance, Common Thread, Leland Nar-Anon Family Group, JAARS, Manna, Operation Christmas Child, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Samara’s Village, Sleep In Heavenly Peace and Steven’s Ministry participated. Way to show the love of Jesus, Leland family!
