I Believe You'll Do It Again
In the Bridge service we sang, "Do It Again" by Elevation Worship. "I've seen You move, You move the mountains. And I believe I'll see You do it again. You made a way, where there was no way. And I believe I'll see You do it again..." I thought about the things that were heavy on my heart and have been for a while. I thought of the things that I can not figure out and God always has the best way. He has ways that I could have never imagined. I see it all through my life so, yes, of course He will do it again! I just have to trust and wait in expectation - tarry.
Someone shared how this song was a sermon for them. All through our lives we are going to have tough times with obstacles in the way and we have no idea how things can possibly work out. Fear grips us and we are filled with anxiety. God told us we would have times of tribulation. John 16: 33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." God also tells us that He has overcome the world. He never changes us and he will never abandon us. If he has helped us in the past, and He has, then He will do it again!
When David faced Goliath he remembered how God had helped him before. 1 Samuel 17: 37, "'The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.' Saul said to David, 'Go, and the Lord be with you.'” David was faced with a new obstacle but he kept thinking about what God had done for him in the past. He knew he could trust God.
Sometimes when I see no way out, I seem to forget that "nothing is impossible God." Luke 1: 37 His ways are not my ways. Isaiah 55: 8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the LORD. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" And the one thing I must continue to remember. Psalm 147: 5, "Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit."
