Tiny Disciples
While the parents were in revival, children (3 years-old to 5th grade) had a revival led by Sherry Melvin. God brought to Sherry’s mind, 2 Timothy 1: 7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” She thought of how many kids have fear and anxieties. When fear takes over we cannot experience power, love and self-discipline. Sherry said as she prayed about the curriculum, the Spirit built it. The Wizard of Oz was the theme.
The scarecrow didn’t have a brain, no sound mind. The kids were to clear their minds of things that Satan wants them to think about so they would have room for good things. The tin man didn’t have a heart so he didn’t have love and felt left out. The lion was scared of everything, he didn’t have courage or power. They were all controlled by the wicked witch just as Satan can control us. Dorothy wanted a home, a better place to belong like we all want. At the end of her journey she realized she had the power from her red slippers. We have the power from the Holy Spirit. Dorothy was able to overcome the witch because she threw water on her. By the blood of Jesus, we have been forgiven for our sins. Each night there was an Altar call and the last night ended with Communion and each child was prayed over.
Thank you, Sherry, for teaching our children that if they have no fear from the devil then they will have a clear mind, courage, boldness and power to do the things God wants them to do.
The first night, 12 children gave their hearts to Jesus and several rededicated their lives.
Proverbs 22: 6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Normally, numbers drop Monday and Tuesday due to school and extracurricular activities but this year the numbers maintained. Thanks parents, for bringing your children to revival! Hearts are being connected to Christ and one another through our tiny disciples!
